Clinical Study and Hysterosalpingogram of Sterility Cases

Abstract
Hysterosalpingogram has been universally accepted and approved as a valuable aid in the .diagnosis of sterility study.
In this study 76 cases of sterility patients were evaluated on the view of hysterosalpingogram .and clinical signs and past history.
The results were obtained¢¥ as follow;
1. In 76 casts of sterility,40 cases were primary and remaining 34 cases were secondary sterility.. ? 2. Age distribution showed 24, years old to 42 years old and mean age was 29.5 years old in primary sterility and 32 years old in secondary sterility.
3. Predominant past history sbovaed peritonitis(15%o) in primary sterility and artificial interruption of last pregnancy(26.5%) by means of D & C or Bougienations in secondary sterility group.
4. Tubal pathology was predominant lesion in hysterosalpingogram and bilateral occulusionnoted in 30 cases(39.5%) and unilateral tubal occulusian was 16 cases(21%).
5. Site of tubal occulusion showed in cornual (20 cases), isthmic ;(10 cases); and ampulla andfimbrial: (28 cases).
6. Uterine shadow revealed 55 cases of normal finding and 15 cases of displacement and 9 cases of irregular uterine cavity shadow.
7. Intra abdominal spillage of radioopaque material appeared 41 in 76 cases of this study and most common appearance was homogeneous hazy shadow.
8. Hysterosalpingogram showed 5 instances of Intravasation among 76 cases.
9. Normal hysterosalpingogram appeared 16 cases and 12 cases revealed -abnormality in uterus, tube and intraabdominal shadow.
